2017 FOP Fishing Rodeo

The first annual FOP Fishing rodeo was a huge success!! The day started with a little rain however the sun came out afterwards and became an awesome day of fun. We were able to partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Missouri. We were able to reach several kids from the area and outside the area some as far away as Clarksville TN.

The first annual event was hosted at the Cape Girardeau Elks Lake and is a beautiful lake. Thanks to the Elks for allowing us to use the lake for the event. The event consisted of fishing, bounce houses, petting zoo, gun safety, prizes and food.

Through volunteers and donations we were able to make sure every kid was able to go home with a prize. The Missouri Department of Conservation donated fishing poles and bait for the kids to use.

We had on hand our very own Mr. Charlie Rogers to show the kids how to tie lures. Mr. Rogers is a professional crappie fisherman who has spent several years on the tournament trail and founder of “Crappie USA.” Crappie USA also was generous enough to allow the kids who attended to enter into a drawing for a scholarship.

We had a wonderful 2017 event and look forward to the event in 2018.
